CHICAGO, Illinois–The NAACP California Hawaiʻi State Conference proudly announces that it has once again been recognized for excellence on the national stage, earning First Place Thalheimer Awards in both Publications and Programs for a high performing State Conference during the NAACP National Convention.

The State Conference received First Place for Publications for the third consecutive year, while also earning First Place as a State Conference for Programs, recognizing the Conference’s continued commitment to excellence in member engagement, communications, education, and program delivery.

Presented annually by the NAACP, the Thalheimer Awards honor outstanding achievement among state conferences and branches across the nation, recognizing innovation, impact, and excellence in advancing the mission of the Association.

“This recognition is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and hard work of our volunteers, officers, branch leaders and staff, who work tirelessly to keep our members informed, engaged, and inspired,” said Dr. Rick L. Callender, Esq., President of the NAACP California Hawaiʻi State Conference. “Every publication, every program, and every communication is an opportunity to educate, organize, and empower our communities. We are honored to receive this national recognition for the third consecutive year as we continue advancing the fight for justice and equality throughout California and Hawaiʻi. I know the World Cup is over, but it feels good to have achieved a hat trick relative to our publications.”

The NAACP California Hawaiʻi State Conference extends its gratitude to its Communications Team, Program Leadership, Executive Committee, branch leaders, volunteers, and members whose dedication made this achievement possible.

As the Conference prepares for the 39th Annual NAACP California Hawaiʻi State Conference Convention this October in Long Beach, this national recognition serves as a reminder that excellence in communication and programming remains essential to building stronger communities and advancing equity, justice, and democracy.
