Dear NAACP Officers, Members and Leaders,
I want to take a moment to speak to you from my heart.
First, thank you.
Thank you for your support in re-electing me to the NAACP National Board of Directors. I am deeply honored by your trust, and I do not take it lightly. To be given another opportunity to serve at the national level means a great deal to me, because I know that support comes from the people who are in the work every day — our members, our branches, and our leaders who continue to show up for justice.
I am grateful beyond words.
The NAACP is only as strong as its members and branches, and I never lose sight of the fact that you are the heartbeat of this Association. You are on the front lines in your communities — organizing, advocating, mentoring, speaking out, and standing up for what is right. I see your commitment, and I thank you for your leadership and your labor.
Your support is not just a vote of confidence — it is a call to continued service. And I accept that call with humility, gratitude, and renewed determination.
Please know that I will continue to serve on the NAACP National Board of Directors with focus and purpose. I will continue to stand for civil rights, environmental justice, voting rights, educational equity, economic justice, and accountability. And I will continue to make sure the voices of our branches and members are heard, respected, and represented.
Thank you again for your confidence, your partnership, and your dedication to this great Association.
We have more work to do — and I look forward to continuing that work with you.
Together, we move forward.
With deep appreciation and gratitude,
Rick L. Callender ESQ,
Member, NAACP National Board of Directors
NAACP CA/HI State Conference President
