The CA/HI State Conference NAACP invites members of the Youth and College Division to participate in a contest to determine our next priority bill. Winners of the ``There Ought To Be A Law`` contest will work with CA/HI NAACP staff to lobby their bill in the California State Legislature.

Some of the best ideas we work on come from members who are seeing and/or experiencing  problems in their neighborhoods firsthand. When we work together as a community, we get better policy outcomes, and youth voice is always crucial in this process.  Proposals can vary from local community improvements that can be implemented on a statewide basis to issues purely of statewide concern and can be entirely new policies or revisions to existing laws.
