Dr. Amos C. Brown and Danny Glover \n  \nRev. Amos C. Brown\, Th.D.\, of San Francisco\, is a distinguished civil rights leader who studied under Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr. He bravely participated in the lunch counter sit-in alongside King in 1961 and later joined the Freedom Riders in protesting segregation in the South. Rev. Serving as Pastor at the Third Baptist Church of San Francisco since 1976\, Rev. Brown’s dedication to his community is exemplary. He has also served as Pastor at Pilgrim Baptist Church and Saint Paul’s Baptist Church. Currently\, Rev. Danny Glover was born on July 22\, 1946\, in San Francisco\, California. Both of his parents\, Carrie and James Glover\, were postal workers and active members of the NAACP. At San Francisco State University\, he played a crucial role in the 1968 student strike\, leading to the establishment of the country’s first ethnic studies department. After university\, Glover worked for the City of San Francisco in the Model Cities Program while training at the American Conservatory Theater and Shelton Actors Lab. His acting career began in college\, with roles in productions like Escape from Alcatraz (1979)\, leading to acclaimed performances in The Color Purple and the Lethal Weapon series. Outside of acting\, Glover co-founded the Robey Theatre Company in 1994 and established Louverture Films to produce socially-conscious cinema.
