CALIFORNIA HAWAII STATE NAACP TO CELEBRATE 35th STATE CONVENTION IN LOS ANGELES
LOS ANGELES, CA (10/6/22) – The California Hawaii State Conference NAACP will be hosting its 35th State Convention on October 21-23, 2022 at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott. Early bird registration for adults ends October 10th and tickets are available for $300. After October 10th, tickets will be $400. Early bird youth registration tickets are $50 on or before October 10 and $75 after. Awards dinner tickets for Saturday, October 22 at 7:30 pm are $115.
This year’s CA/HI NAACP State Convention theme is This Is Power: Dismantling Racism. This year’s convention will bring together elected officials, activists, organizers, faith leaders, and entertainers for workshops and discussions to promote solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing the African American community and other communities of color within California and Hawaii, including Next-Gen Leadership, environmental justice, criminal justice, reparations, health, education and more. Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22 of the CA/HI NAACP State Convention will begin at 7 am. The last day of the convention–Sunday, October 23–will begin at 8:30 am.
“The civil rights movement is active and fighting forward and the convention is one of our annual tools that allows us to lead with intent and to inspire change in our communities through conversations and education on topics which impact the African American community and other communities of color,“ said CA/HI NAACP President Rick Callender.
