NAACP ORANGE COUNTY

BHM Screening: The Space Race

When Saturday, February 10

Where Regal Irvine Spectrum 500 Spectrum Center Drive Irvine, CA 92618

Join NAACP Orange County in community with UCI National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Black Student Union (BSU), Nigerian Student Association (NSA), Institute of Black Intellectual Innovation (IBII), and BIPOC Orange County as we celebrate Black History Month with a Special screening of THE RACE.

THE SPACE RACE weaves together the stories of Black astronauts seeking to break the bonds of social injustice to reach for the stars, including Guion Bluford, Ed Dwight, and Charles Bolden, among many others. In THE SPACE RACE, directors Diego Hurtado de Mendoza and Lisa Cortés profile the pioneering Black pilots, scientists, and engineers who joined NASA to serve their country in space, even as their country failed to achieve equality for them back on Earth.

This will be a memorable event with free popcorn, candy, and drinks. Bring a friend and RSVP as we look forward to welcoming you all!

*RSVP is required. Please arrive early to secure your entrance, as seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
